Scott E. Rupp, public relations and media management specialist, earned his bachelor’s degree from California State University, Los Angeles in entertainment writing with an emphasis in public relations. While in Southern California, he wrote for several publications including LA Weekly and Pasadena Weekly as a theater critic, and as a freelance feature writer for Southern California Physician’s Magazine, a medical trade publication, and The Quarterly Magazine, a social life magazine based in Pasadena.
Additionally, Scott was the media specialist for a public relations firm serving clients in the live entertainment industry, and was the public relations and marketing director for a large nonprofit agency, The David & Margaret Home, in La Verne where he created a public relations and marketing department and worked closely with several publications including The Los Angeles Times, The Orange County Register and The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, among several other community news outlets in the area, to secure press and create public awareness for the agency. Also, he created a radio and public service announcement campaign while there, which secured thousands of dollars in free radio and television air time for the organization.
Currently, Scott is a reporter and business section editor for a publication of The Tampa Tribune, which serves more than 150,000 readers in Brandon, Florida and has written for such publications as The Brandon News, The South Shore News, The South Tampa News and In the Loop, to name a few.
He has more than 10 years of experience in the fields of public relations, media management and journalism. He is working toward his master’s degree in journalism at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg.
